Same thing happening to me. Without even using browsers or anything like that. And if I minimized the app to the task bar, it pop in front of everything every now and then…
Is properly updated, is paid version so nothing to sell me, there isn’t any automatic analysis.
AVG, we know your user interface is pretty neat, but I think this is just being a little bit of a showoff

EDIT:
I turned off automatic virus definition updates (to manual) and the issue stopped, at least I haven’t had it for like 5 hours.
for some people, setting the popup setting to “limited” rather than normal or silent seems to be helping for the moment
i am really tired of this company, after they shove their ads in my face, now every time I open a new tab, this antivirus opens itself. i have been paying for their antivirus for years, and it feels like in an abusive relationship which you pay for. not once they address this problem and try to fix it. we the users have to look solution?

Hi all, we just released a backend fix to address this issue: You should no longer see the AVG window repeatedly appearing on the screen.
If the problem persists, please try rebooting your system (in most cases, this should not be necessary).
