AVG Paid but non-existant

I've been using AVG (paid for 3 computers) since about 2007 with no problems whatsoever. On renewing earlier in March I keep getting a message saying it doesn't recognise my license number. I've typed this in manually several times and triple checked it is correct. If I try to uninstall I get an error message, if I try to repair, I get an error message, if I try to install again, I get an error message. I'm getting really frustrated that I've paid a not inconsiderable sum for something I can't use and am putting my network at risk. I'm sure that at one time I could email support but this doesn't seem to be available nowadays. Would anyone have any advice please?

Upon carefully reviewing your account, I see that you have renewed your AVG Internet Security (3 computers) on 2016.3.11 and it expires on 2017.3.26. To get your issue fixed, we request you to run AVG remover tool in your pc and then install AVG Internet Security back in your pc to get your issue fixed.
To run AVG remover tool for AVG Antivirus please follow the below steps :

http://aa-download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe
Accept the license agreement and then choose AVG Product and remove it.

NOTE: Once the AVG Remover Tool has done with its process. Please go to the drive where you installed this tool and look for a folder named as "AVG Remover" and I request you to delete it manually.
To install AVG Internet Security please click on the following link http://files-download.avg.com/inst/mp/AVG_Internet_Security_742.exe​ download and install the file. 
Also the license number has been sent to your registered email id.
