AVG Password Protection - selecting browser

I read this:

  1. Click Settings (gear icon) on the main screen of Password Protection.
  2. Ensure that Selected browser tab is open, then select your preferred browser from the drop-down menu.
But how do you "Ensure the Selected Browser Tab is open"?

Thank you

Hello Jennifer,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your concern. I will help you.

Please be informed, Password Protection detects your installed browsers and if they are supported Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, it chooses to protect your default browser (or just available one). When you click Settings (gear icon) on the main screen of Password Protection,
the Selected browser tab will open, then select your preferred browser from the drop-down menu (If Google chrome and Mozilla firefox installed on your PC).

.

Thank you.

I decided to try my own solution: uninstall Chrome and re-install.

I tried this, and once Chrome was re-installed, then password protection recognised it.

SORTED!

Best wishes

However, this doesn't work.

My default is Chrome. AVG thinks it is Firefox and only looks there. When I click on the gear on the main screen, the drop down menu does not drop down - it refuses to open. It looks as though AVG has not recognised that Chrome is there.  :frowning:
