Seems to be the same problem that Ed and Rüdiger had. After installing the avg TuneUp, I was not able to open the programs from MS Office anymore. I have the 2016 home and student version.
How can I fix this problem?
Hello Martha,
We are glad to help you with this.
You seemed to have the older version of AVG TuneUp and it is always recommended to use the revamped version of the program to avail the enahnced features. It looks like you have put your MS office in sleep mode and you have issues in launching the application.
We request you to get connected with us in a chat medium using this link (https://support.avg.com/support_tech_chat) to validate your account details and get further assistance.
Thank you.
Many thanks to Ed for the description of the problem and its solution. I was also unable to open Office files attached to emails either on my desktop (Office 2013) or on my notebook (Office 365). After uninstalling AVG TuneUp Unlimited this works properly again. I also noticed that printing emails from Outlook is now much faster as well.
However, this is only the technical aspect of the problem. What is particularly annoying is that I just renewed my license in August and now can' t use it anymore. I would really like to keep on doing so (e.g. because of the sleep mode), but AVG TuneUp and Office 2013 resp. 365 are not compatible with each other at the moment. Or has a solution been found in the meantime?
Sorry for the trouble, Ed.
Could you share the screenshot http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-create-a-screenshot of that error message you have received? Have you put these programs into sleep mode?

I recently installed a 32 Bit version of Office 2016 Professional. My AVG TuneUp is conflicting with Outlook and I cannot mail out of Word or open attachments in Outlook. The message I get is TUAutoReactivator64.exe - application error. The error number is 0xc000007b, which apparently indicates a conflict between 32 and 64 bit programs. I know it is an AVG problem because when I removed the program from my computer the problem went away. It is now back. Do I dump AVG TuneUP altogether?

Outlook is running fine, as is Word, as stated above.

Hello Ed,
I appreciate your efforts. Is Outlook is working fine and running successfully without any error message?
AVG TuneUp has been removed from my machine. The message is verbatim as it appears on teh screen.
Top line is TUAutoReactivator64.exe - application error
Second line is The error number is 0xc000007b
Neither Outlook nor Word was put in sleep mode.
From my research on the Web yesterday when the problem first appeared it seems that the 64 Bit TUAutoRactivator64.exe running on a 64 Bit Windows 10 conflicts with the Office 2016. Did not have a similar problem with Office 2010. Both 32 bit.
And, yes, I have reloaded the entire Office program to ensure there are no bugs hiding in them.
All that fixes the problem (instantly and without rebooting) is removing TuneUp.
Outlook is running fine, as is Word, as stated above.
