Hello Roger,
We regret the inconvenience. The ratings are calculated based on the detection of threat and number of uninstalls plus the actual ratings in the app store.
You received a campaign popup for other AVG products where many of our users find these offers useful. We handpick them from our own products or those of partners we feel can add to your security or digital experience. Also the frequency of pop ups can be controlled directly from the app or can be even turned off.
Open AVG Internet Security -> Menu -> Settings -> General -> Privacy -> Uncheck " Show offer for other AVG products and third party products".

I'm not happy about the pop-up warnings from AVG telling me I have password vulnerabilities, and other warnings. They give little information about the nature of the threat, and I suspect it may just be an attempt to get me to buy into other AVG products which I don't really need. I followed a recent AVG advice to disable SODA desktop pdf editing software "because it was low-rated and might even damage other files" and found that the SODA Premium software would no longer work; I had to re-install it. How can I know what AVG guidance is valid, and what is just a scare story designed to sell me stuff?
