AVG Prompting me to turn on Data Execution Prevention even thought it is already on

AVG just put up a warning message that I should turn on Data Execution Prevention but I checked and Data Execution Prevention is already running on my computer. Is AVG making a mistake and putting up a warning that isn't actually called for or is something else going wrong?

Excuse my typos in that long message, sorry.

Look, I have tried a LOT of security software, and AVG is by far my favourite in YEARS of trying almost everything. It is super fast and does not slow down the computer, plus it is SO easy to use.
I would like to see a microphone access component added, excactly with the same options as webcam access protection but for the the microphone, and that would give me all the features I want for a long time. Consider that a request.

With the DEP scanning, it is very simple and I don't see the need to start a support request. It is as the first poster in this topic says. AVG gives a red warning on smart scan unless DEP is enabled for all processes in advanced system protection settings. By default, windows has itr enabled for "critical wimndows system processes only", and that's the way it SHOULD be. So you simply need to do an update to tell AVG to stop flagging DEP as off. If DEP was off, it would actually be OFF in security center, then I could understand. But it is ON.

It's up to you to fix it, there is nothing I can tell you or do from my end. I suppose I could make some pictures if that helps but try it yourself.
Do a smart scan, and see. Make sure DEP is on in windows device security in the security center.

Then if you open up the system restore area you will see a tab about system protection, this is where you choose whether to enable DEP only for windows processes (the default setting), or for each and EVERY app on the entire PC. AVG wants the latter or it spits out the red warning. This is annoying as I like to do a smart scan every day. It's up to you to do the right thing and fix it.

I bought 3 years of internet security very happily within days of demoing your product. It's excellent.

Bit defender slowed my hard drive copies downb to 200 mb/s, Kaspersky drastically slowed down my internet browsing, Malwarebytes does not have a complete security suite with two way firewall, same with Avira, Zone Alarm was far too resource heavy and so on. I tried almost EVERYTHING.

As soon as I uninstalled Bit defender, my drive to drive file copies went back to 5000 mb/s, and then I installed AVG and there was no change. It's super fast! So I love it. But I would like that "bug" with DEP fixed and I am sure others would too.

I wrote a reply but it is not appearing here, so I am just testing with another message to see if that works.

HI, this is actually a bug in AVG. It is really irritating to come up every scan.

I have installed AVG for the first time in my life on a brand new computer (I had never used AVG previously), a completely clean install, so it has nothing with being a bad isntall of AVG. It is a bug in the program that things DEP is off when it is not off.

How can I have a bad AVG install when it's only a couple days old and it all works perfectly except for this one issue? Is it really that hard to fix? Or does AVG want us to turn on DEP for ALL programs, not just Windows processes? Is THAT the problem here? I will not do that, as it will cause too many conflicts with other software.

Yep, that's what the issue is. I just paused writing this message to enable DEP for all processes and AVG scanned perfectly, all green.

You need to remove this as having DEP activated for all processes is not advised in ANY situation for real world use of a modern computer. Logic tells us it would be automatically turned on that way if that was the right way to use it.

Please fix this oin AVG to sto ptelling us DEP is off when it is ON for what matters, as it is with allk windows installs by default.
