Lucas, Did you resolve your issue with AVG?.
AVG Guru
I am the Network Administrator for a University and we are running Bradford Network Sentry for Network Access Control. Currently, all students are required to have an antivirus program installed and up-to-date in order to join the network. I have added the proper domains to a whitelist in order to allow students to access the AVG site and download the installers (Win & MAC). However, when installing, I receive error 0xE001F946: Verification of Digital Signature Failure. I believe this is due to the installer reaching back out to the internet on a domain I do not have whitelisted. Is anyone else running Bradford and has sorted this out or can anyone tell me where the installer goes to verify the digital signatures?
Good Morning Alan,
I have not been able to resolve the issue. I ran a WireShark PCAP while running the installer and then used nslookup on a computer with full network access to resolve any public IPs listed by WireShark. All the IPs I checked resolved to domains that I already have on the whitelist (akamai, avg.com, etc.) I hoped to get some info from the setup logs, but as the log entries are hashed I couldn't get anything useful from them myself. I may also open a ticket with Bradford just to see if they have had similar reports and see if they have resolved it for others as well.
Thanks,
-Lucas
