Hi Jim,
We understand your concern and When you have the CD or USB disk, insert it into the computer on which you want to run the AVG Rescue CD.
*Press F1 if you want to set boot options, otherwise wait 10 seconds or press the Enter key.
*The system will boot up. It will automatically mount (connect) the hard drives of the computer and also set the network connection.
*Once the system is loaded, you will be presented with a simple user interface. From this interface basic features can be accessed.
After this please try to start a scan, you can start the AVG scan by:
1)Use the arrow keys and the Enter key to highlight the Scan option.
2)Specify whether you want to scan the whole disk or just a specified directory.
3)Check options for the scan. It is usually not needed to change them and you can proceed by pressing the Enter key.
4)Confirm start of the scan.
After the scan please check with process and contact us again if the issue persist. We work round the clock.
Thank you.
I can run scans! My problem is that my 2TB primary drive does not get mounted so it does not get scanned! The program does not see my 2TB hard drive so it can be mounted!!!
A scan of my 2TB hard drive usually takes much over an hour. My scans are now only taking less than an hour so I know the 2TB drive IS NOT BEING SCANNED!!! How do I make it see and mount my 2TB hard drive???
I decided to create a new CD and that one loads all drives on my computer… I think the version I was using wasn't configured for WIN-10! Thanks for all your help!
Thanks!
I have AVG Rescue installed on a CD. I can start AVG Rescue and it will do everything except it does not mount the primary volume (drive "C") and therefore does not check that drive for viruses. I use WIN-10 on a Dell computer. Any idea how I can make it mount all volumes on the computer?

Hello Jim,
Please provide us the driver details, what type of drive it is, manufacturer, partitions and file systems used.
1. Run the AVG Rescue CD.
2. Induce the issue.
3. Plug in a USB flash drive.
4. Select the Mount menu item.
- The flash drive should indicate an activity when being mounted (when equipped with a LED indicator).
5. Run the Midnight Commander:
- Select Utilities in the main menu.
- Then select File Manager
6. Navigate to the AVG log folder "/opt/avg/av/log/0/" in the left pane of the Midnight Commander. Switching between panes can be done by pressing the TAB key.
7. Copy the whole folder to the USB flash drive:
- Navigate to the mounted USB drive in the right pane of Midnight Commander (e.g. to /mnt/sdb1/).
- Switch back to the left pane, select the log folder and press F5.
- The log folder will be copied over to the USB drive.
- Exit the Midnight Commander by pressing F10.
8. Return to the main AVG Rescue CD menu and Shutdown the system.
Thank you
