Thanks Balasubramanian,
I'm confused now
Please forgive me again; but I need a bootable USB drive.
The instructions I read never state the need to create a CD/DVD.
In fact there is/was a separate download for USB bootable Rescue drive.
It was this image I used to create the USB Rescue drove…
I'll need to go check my E-Mail for further instructions in the application I installed…
Much appreciated Balasubramanian,
I'm sure they will have help for us.
Hopefully the information I provided is sufficient.
Warmest regards,
Cee Gee

Your patience is much appreciated.
I require a bootable flash-drive (16 GB USB-2) Rescue Stick to remove a virus.
I have two licensed copies of AVG Internet Security.
My situation and efforts follow:
I tested the two 16 GB USB units thoroughly:
01) Copy to and delete from.
02) Format NTFS / FAT.
03) Installed AVG USB Rescue Tool to the stick
(avg_arl_ffi_all_120_150814a10442).
The program installed without problem.
Reported that a bootable USB stick was created.
------------------------------------------------------------
04) I re-started computer.
05) Entered BIOS to move "Boot from USB" up the list of options.
06) Booted up pressing F12 for Boot Options.
07) Selected "Boot from USB device" as my location.
Message "Invalid Partition Table".
------------------------------------------------------------
08) Re-formatted USB (FAT32),
09) Installed in a different USB port,
10) Tried all efforts with a second USB stick.
Same message - "Invalid Partition Table".
------------------------------------------------------------
11) Downloaded PassMark ® Software MemTest86™
12) PassMark also boots Linux from USB using the "Imageusb" utility.
USB Drive booted without error.
IMHO this *should* verify that the USB sticks and my computer are operating properly.
------------------------------------------------------------
To date I have tried everything I can think of.
I see no information on AVG Support site or forum.
Could you please provide some assistance?
Best regards,
CeeGee
ps - I am not open to a remote session at this time.
Thank you again.
Hello Charles,
It is to keep you informed that some of the files might not got installed on the bootable flash drive and that's the reason we have asked you to create a bootable CD. Please burn the ISO file to a CD/DVD and boot your PC using the CD/DVD and continue with the rescue operations as mentioned on the instructions.
Thank you.
Hello Aravind,
I have the ISO image here, mounted on a virtual CD.
Upon browsing it, there doesn't appear to be any boot images contained.
Are you asking me to burn this ISO to a CD/DVD?
Even if that works, I wtill NEED a bootable USB drive immediately.
Thanks and best regards,
Cee Gee
Yes, you have to burn the ISO file to a CD/DVD and go to the boot option and change your first booting device to CD/DVD drive so that your file will be detected from the CD drive.
Please feel free to contact us should you need any assistance.
