I am having the same issue, did anyone get the troubleshooting for this? Using Catalina 10.15.15 sometimes it connects and then it disconnects and will never connect back, won't get an IP
I have subscribed to the AVG Secure VPN and installed in on to my Mac, but my MacOs 10.15.2 was not listed as a supported version on the AVG FAQ, and I always got problem in making VPN connection with error saying "VPN Connection is likely blocked by internet service provider or network configuration". I have other Window based PC in my home and I can successfully connect the VPN on the Window PC, and also able to do the same on my Android phone connected with my home Wi Fi, so it should not be a problem on my internet service provider. I have also tried to update the DNS to 8.8.8.8 or 9.9.9.9 but it still not working. what other setting I need to do on my Mac?
Hi Anthony,
We're glad to look into this & help you.
As this isn't the usual behavior of Secure VPN, we may need to try reinstalling it on your MAC.
We've sent you an email including the activation code. Reason being, privacy concerns.
Please try the above step & let us know if it helps.
Hello Anthony. My name is Shawn, and I am writing to you on behalf of AVG's senior support team. As a follow up to your Mac AVG Secure VPN connection error, to correct the record, MacOs 10.15.2 is indeed a supported operating system (you referenced that it is not) as per the following AVG Secure VPN for Windows and Mac FAQs: https://is.gd/idZQ6v (Which operating systems does AVG Secure VPN support).
The issue you are experiencing is likely related to your specific network settings. The following ports need to be open in the network/router/firewall 50, 500, 1701, and 4500. Also AVG Secure VPN on Mac, uses IPsec protocol, and some routers have the option to enable or disable IPsec (sometimes referenced as VPN passthrough). IPSec (or VPN passthrough) needs to be enabled on your router.
I trust this information is helpful. Let us know how this works for you. Good luck. All the best, Shawn
Dear AVG Team,
I have been experiencing same problem. I am still waiting for your reply.
On the forums, I saw people has been experiencing same problem as me. I noticed none of them contains any solution.
I asked specifically, if u found an answer and a member from AVG replied as yes, I need to open a case.
I did. I sent an e-mail.
You asked some screenshots and information.
I sent requested files. I provided information.
You replied my problem need to involve higher technicials to find a solution. I received an email inviting me to chat with technician.
I connected as requested. Technician told me that, they cannot solve the issue and he took neccessary information and told me that he will revert the information to higher technicians.
I am still waiting.
You still could not find the problem, even though I am not the only one who experiencing same problem.
I am certain that I am not happy with your problem solving. I am not happy waiting for this long.
Regards,
Alper
hey. ive been trying on different posts to get this fixed. I almost got fired from my work and lost tons of money because your VPN is not working (on my mac), i just want to talk to someone by chat or phone. I am not gonna follow your steps send you screen shots and waste all that precious time. I done it all. Now, lets schedule a live chat.
I followed exactly all your steps in unistalling again, then install again, then click the ON to use it, it turned on for a while but I cannot brose the internet or search anything as the sysmte just hang there as if there is no network, then after a few sconds, the same error screen shown up saying VPN Connection is likely blcoked by internet servcice provider or network configuaration.
I even turned off hte firewall, adn still no hope in getting this fixed.
It's not a great product and it just doesn't work on my Mac.
Anthony, let me check this with my senior team and update the status as soon as possible.
Your patience is much appreciated.
