'AVG Service' uses a large amount of disk usage whenever I download a new game/updates on Steam

Hi there,
Whenever I download a new game or an update for a game on Steam, my disk usage for 'AVG Service' increases massively. Obviously, I expect Steam to use a high amount of disk usage when downloading new files, but the AVG Service increases with the Steam disk usage which slows down my PC, and also makes Steam often no longer respond. This has only started to happen ever since I installed the latest version of AVG Internet Security the other day with the help of one of your Tech Supports. I have also added Steam to the list of exceptions and I have had previous issues with AVG and Steam.
Is there any way to make this stop so my PC isn't slowed down massively

Here are the screenshots showing when a game isn't being installed and when the disk usage increases massively, slowing down my entire system, whilst an update is downloading.

Hello Sam,
We regret for the inconvenience. In order to fix the issue, please follow the instructions to change the Firewall settings of AVG using below steps:
Open AVG  -> Internet Security -> Click on Menu in the top right corner -> Settings -> Components -> Firewall -> Customize -> Network Profiles -> Change the networks from Public to Private.
Please get back to us if the issue still persists.
Thank you.

I have a similar problem with my 3d Software. Avast lets me operate for about 1 month then my Cad Software which uses quite a bit of memory stopped responding. nothing has changed as far as operating programs and software … I simply cannot get my work done for clients.
I had a similar prioblem with AVAST software antivirus, and as soon as i unninstalled it everything worked smoothly. Thats why I now have AGV as it seemed to let my CAD software work without killing off my CAD capability.
I now seem to have come full circle again.!!
There must be an overide to this … or im going to have to come off line and unninstall all antivirus software completely.
Shame
Kind regards
Cyril

Thank you for understanding.
Yes, we are aware of this issue and it shouldn't happen with our latest version.
If so, we need to analyze the logs of AVG.
Please contact us using this link https://support.avg.com/support_tech_chat?l=en when you are ready to get further assistance on this matter.

It still doesn't work. I will be talking to an AVG Tech Support within a couple of hours so they can connect to my PC to try to fix it, and if they can't then I will be asking for a refund and for AVG to be uninstalled because this is honestly unacceptable that an Anti-Virus cannot handle an application that is harmless, like Steam. Even Steam on, one of their help guides of software which breaks Steam, mentions that AVG should be uninstalled instantly if you want Steam to actually function properly. I'm sorry to be so hostile but at this point, I am utterly annoyed and have even had a Microsoft Tech Support connect to my PC in order to try and fix the situation.

We appreciate your efforts and patience, Sam.

Not to worry, AVG technical support team will assist you further and if required they will escalate the concern to higher level technicians. We are here if you need further assistance.

Hello Abirami,
Sadly, after changing the Secure VPN from Public to Private (My ethernet connection was already private) The issue still continues and as you can see from the screenshot below, within 10 seconds AVG Secure went from using 0% disk usage (0mb) to 2.5mb, which 100% disk usage. This is a lot more than Steam has, which means Steam cannot download fast or at all because the disk usage left is virtually nothing. AVG is installed on the hard drive, and so are the majority of my Steam games, but I can confirm that the game updates on that are installing on my SSD are not affected, so it is only my hard drive luckily.User-added image

Ok it turns out this hasn't fixed the issue and I am really considering uninstalling AVG now, because this new version has started to cause a lot of problems, especially on Steam, even on one of the official Steam help guides of software which conflicts steam, AVG is on there as one of the pieces of software which all users should avoid installing if they want their games to work.
I'm sorry to be so hostile but at this point, I truly am frustrated and would be grateful for a solution that works.
Not only is slow at installing games, but my installed games, even those on my SSD are now so much slower when loading.

Thanks Balasubramanian! Yeah, I understand. Sure I will create a new thread. But there is a bug in AVG with these settings. I don't say keep these options close forever, but it helps to get windows to stable when AVG hit 100% disk utilization and high memory consumption in my experience over the past few months. I'm in Software development, so happy to do my own troubleshooting for a while prior to reach you guys. However, AVG (business) has a memory leakage issue which seems to be not uncovered during QA.
