AVG shields are off and can't turn them on

Hi there, for several years I had no problem with the AVG programs. Since a couple of months, the shields are turned off and I can't get them turned off. 
I'm running Windows 10 and I don't know if Windows defender is the cause of it.
Can anybody help me to fix this?
