AVG slows system, "you're not as private as you think"

Hello Stephen,

I understand this must be upsetting.
When AVG Secure VPN is installed, the slowness in internet is common because it encrypts traffic and data before sending it to a server. Depending on the distance and capacity of the server, this process may cause a slightly slower, but safer, internet connection.
I assure you that the PC slowness shouldn't be due to AVG Secure VPN.
If VPN is activated then shouldn't be getting notices for purchasing VPN product.
Let us work together and check what is causing the issue.
Provide the (screenshot) of AVG dashboard showing the campaign for AVG Secure VPN to assist further.

After installing AVG VPN, my system speed has slowed to a crawl. Worse yet, the AVG dashboard states "You're not as private as you think" in its lower left corner. Clicking on "RESOLVE" takes me to the sales pitch, as if the just-purchased product is not installed. I've restarted 3X with no change.

Is AVG VPN a scam? Why does it report I'm not "as private as I think"?
What's with the dramatic slowdown of my system? I'm running a new HP Pavilion, WIndows 10 64 bit.

Thank you for the screenshot.
The campaign for AVG Secure VPN shouldn't' appear when VPN is active on your PC.
Perform (repair) of AVG Internet Security and check whether message regarding VPN appear at the bottom of Internet Security interface.
