Avg software analyser won't stop... ever

Avg software analyser just won't stop… 
I can't do anything on my computer. Can't remove the program. 
If I "right-click" the icon in the toolbar, and try to deactivate , the button just comes back to activate! What can i do! I need my computer but it spends more time protecting it than i can use it!
