Please share us the screenshot of task manager showing the CPU consumption for better clarity.
Also, let us know the version of AVG that is installed on your computer (Open AVG Internet Security - Menu - About) along with the operating system of your computer.

Module avgbIDSAgent is using  Is there .an excessive amount of CPU. Is there a way to stop it? Task manages does not allow access.  Or do I have to uninstall and reinstall AVG?
