Oh, darn. I knew I could take an hour to remove and reinstall the product but was hoping to avoid that. I'll let you know how it goes, when I find time. BTW, I've been finding using this forum very difficult. When I follow the link in the email notifying me of a reply or when I simply search the web for the forum to get to the forums generally, I'm logged out. And when I log in, I'm taken away from the forums with no onscreen way to get here. And so forth. I'm not sure what I did to write this after 10 attempts. Egad.
Hello John,

I recently switched back from McAfee Antivirus to AVG AntiVirus Free. McAfee, of course, added to my Windows 10 services, but not to startup programs (visible in Task Manager, Startup). Unlike that, AVG added the following to my startup programs: first, I see AVG Ui (Re)Starter (2), with subentries for AVG Ui (Re)Starter and FMW. Second, I see AvLaunch Component (2), with subentries for AvLaunch Component and AVGUI. Do I need them for AVG to work properly, or may I remove them? Thank you!
John,
I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve the issue.

I have checked this from my end and it is working properly.

Sure thing, but I doubt it adds much to what I posted.
