I have just bought a new Microsoft Surface laptop using edge and Win 11.
I have installed ( as on all my other PC’s) AVG protection. However on some sites ( an example below) the AVG software advises “The connection is not secure” Sometimes if I continually refresh I can gain access but usually not until I disable AVG - not really a solution.
It has taken hours to track the cause to the AVG installation which continues to work faultlessly on my old Win 7 Dell laptop on the same URL
I just experienced the same problem. AVG has decided that a perfectly safe site (pocket) which I’ve used for years and on which I rely heavily is now a threat to be blocked.
Hey, I totally get how frustrating this must be! It sounds like AVG might be interfering with your secure connections, possibly due to its HTTPS scanning feature. You can try disabling HTTPS scanning in AVG’s settings to see if that helps.
Here’s how:
Open AVG and go to Menu > Settings
Click on Basic Protection > Web & Email
Find Enable HTTPS scanning and toggle it off
Restart your browser and check if the issue persists
If that doesn’t work, you might also try adding the affected sites to AVG’s exceptions list. Let me know if this helps or if you need more troubleshooting!
