AVG Strength with Trojan Horse viruses?

I am installing AVG right now too, because I have the same problem.   There is obviously a root kit on my machine.  I installed a download utility from share space and that is when the problem statrted.  I have found many problems with malware since and still can not remove this one.  Please help.

Hi Daniel,

I'd like to ask you for AVG log files for closer analysis. Please download and run this http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_SysInfo.exe, briefly describe the situation, include link to this conversation and send it. Specialists will contact you on your e-mail after analysis.

Thanks

Good evening,
I have installed a 30-Day Trial offer of AVG on my windowsXP -HP Media center to clean it up, and perhaps buy a years subscription. The product can't clean a Trojan Horse virus called Agen_c.QW
Now, I know next to nothing with about which company offers great protection. Is there some reason that this specific Virus can't be quarantined and deleted? The virus throws a ton of Pop-ups from datafastguru, fearfromone, customerview ad.wsad and other junk in my web browser. This happens in both IE and Firefox. Any suggestions or experience with this dilemna out there?
Thanks in advance
