AVG trying to take payment after I have cancelled my Subscription

I cancelled my account on the 12th of September. I got a call from my credit card company on the 16th saying AVG tried to take out a payment. I am just wondering if there is a mix up or does it take a few days for the account to get cancelled and the subscription to be taken off my account? Also I had gotten a new card previous to the last payment that AVG tried to take out and somehow they still managed to make the attempt and my credit card company stopped the payment. Being the reason I cancelled my subscription so they wouldn't try to take out anymore payments. So I am also wondering how they were able to get the new card information to make the attempt at taking out the payment. It shows DRI*AVG technologies as the transaction. Just want a bit of clarification and to make sure no more payments are going to be attempted with the cancellation of the subscription. I don't want to have to get a 3rd new card.
