We'd be glad to clarify.
Could you let us know the status of AVG TuneUp on your PC? Did it upgrade to latest version recently?

The message I got was to reload and enter the product key again which I haven't done until I verify the message actually came from you (AVG) and that I am not downloading dime oiser's malware.

Is the recent email sent by AVG Tune Up that indicates there was a mix up with the most recent update and instructions how to reactivate paid features legit or a scam? 

I am quite satisfied with AVG / Avast virus protection and Tune Up premium features, but there are a lot of scams that look like they came from an official source website only to download malware.
