Technically the program version update shouldn't affect the paid subscription feature.
Could you contact WinZip support and check whether it is possible to get the link to install the previous version and activate your paid subscription?
You can also check on downloads whether you still have the WinZip setup file that you downloaded earlier.
If yes, you can install it by uninstalling the existing version and check whether you are able to activate your paid subscription.

AVG Tuneup came up with the alert that Winzip needed updating. I had a paid version of Winzip that was working fine. It did the update but now when I go to use Winzip it's asking me to pay again! Looks like AVG Tuneup has deleted my paid version of Winzip (NB AVG 'undo' feature didn't do anything) and installed the latest version and ditched my paid subscription. Not impressed.
