Could you share a screenshot of AVG TuneUp user interface when it is cleaning the junk?
New version of TuneUp persistently bogs down at the point of cleaning "System Junk" at 87% with a message "The plugin 'Windows Desk Cleanup Handler' is running." Instead of taking just a "few minutes" it is taking more than a half-hour and if I close out and try again, same thing.
Karen, I am sorry to inform you that there is no option to roll back to the previous version of AVG TuneUp and there is no free version for this program.
Regarding system junk scan, you can try reinstalling AVG program and check if you are able to complete the scan. Even if the scan is complete, you will not be able to fix it, as we need to have paid subscription to resolve it.

Never mind. Just send me a way to go back to the TuneUp I had before this new version was foisted on me. I had been running a limited free version that AVG bundled with a prior AVG Antivirus upgrade. Now the "trial subscription" has run out and I cannot complete the "fix & clean" because I get a window that requires choosing a paid subscription, and this after waiting half an hour for the "System Junk" part to complete. I cannot currently afford a paid subscription, I do not need the whole package at this time, just the basic TuneUp, and I had a free version before it was taken away from me.
