Hello this is about the Products AVG PC TuneUp, AVG Antivirus and Mccafe. I installed AVG PC TuneUp along with my free trial of AVG Pro. It seems pop up ads such as "speed up your PC by repairing windows 10" and "update your Adobe Flash Player" or Java updates appear and these pop ups are designed very crudely so I wouldn't think of them as something AVG would use. Then when I try to Exit out of them a text box pops up with confusing text. AVG Anti Virus recently spotted adware on my computer even though I had not downloaded anything and had not gone to any unsafe sites at all and have been only surfing Youtube, Steam, Tumblr Etc. However I do still have my Mcafee Antivirus installed which came with my PC.
would these programs running together cause each other to make false alarms about virus and malware detection?
does AVG promote Windows 10, Adobe and java ads and updates?
I have thought of deleting Mcafee as it was simply a monthly trial that's eating at my ram and I can't actually use it to remove viruses but at some point it informed me that I had a Trojan horse(SO04192225) and it had supposedly "quarantined" the virus. it didn't bring up anything to buy and remove it it just showed me an info box. So now I'm afraid that if I remove Mccafe that it will let the Trojan virus run freely. Also AVG Anti virus did not inform me of any threats at the time and it doesn't say anything when I scan my PC.
Finally I did have an adware case of Wajam after my Mcafee month ended. I used a restore point to where it wasn't downloaded (it stated that it was downloaded the 9-10th of January at around 9 pm ) to January 5th. After I used Chrome Clean Uptool and reset my browser. Then I did a final restart and it fixed most of the issues. I looked again in the programs folder and I still found remnants of it which I believe is a folder called "wajanet" and I can't seem to uninstall it. I tried scanning for viruses with AVG Pro but it turned up nothing, I've checked other people's PC's to see if that file name appears and it doesn't and their PC's share practically the same downloads as mine. I apologize for this being so lengthy but I think this information is vital and I simply want to use my PC without being anxious.
Last question: How do I fully uninstall Wajam adware from my PC?
