Well Gordon isn't alone. I have used this product for years frustrated at the speed of my laptop. I have just upgraded to 8GB ram and it was working perfectly until I used my activatioin code to install tune-up. The computer came to a halt - I have uninstalled it on my ol laptop also and I can now see how my PC is supposed to run. I

As an architect I am frequently performing processor hungry 3d renderings and I am keen to maximise the performance of my PC. I recently installed AVG TuneUP on my 6 core 3.6GH CPU, 8GB RAM, 64 bit W10 Pro V1903 desktop. Sadly AVG TuneUP slowed down my PC. Task Manager indicates that AVG TuneUP Service (32 bit) is on average utilising 25% of my CPU. Where in the logic in selling a PC tune up application that does the opposite slowing down the PC?

This isn't the experience we want you to have. Let us attempt to help you with this. As this isn't the usual behavior of AVG TuneUp, would you be so kind to consider re-installing it once to check? If you consider, follow the steps in the below articles : Uninstall AVG TuneUp (after uninstalling, check the performance) Install/Activate AVG TuneUp As it isn't recommended to share the activation code via this post, we've sent you an email including the code.
Uninstall and reinstall completed and done scan and fixed all the problems and Task Manager is still showing power usage of AVG TuneUp running in the background as "very high" at approx 20% of CPU. That equates to more than one core monopolised by AVG TuneUp even with automatic maintainance turned off. That is not the result I was hoping for. Surely TuneUp implies an improvement in computer performance not a slowing down.
