We regret to hear that you are experiencing this. Please check if "AVG Installer.exe" is running under 'Processes' tab in the task manager and end it. If there are multiple instances, end all of them and reboot your PC once. Try to update AVG now and it should work.

Task manager doesn't indicate MSIEXE.exe is present.
retry to update returns the same results.

Question: How do I solve the problem?
