Removed cleaner and reinstalled. Still getting ads and upgrade request in upper right. My account says I have Pro. Logged out and logged back in as you suggested. Virus seems to work ok.

Please reinstall AVG Clear and let me know the status.
I have used Ultimate for sometime, now getting ads. When I try to download from AVG web it takes me to play store and downloads says contains ads. How to I get back to Pro version

I will assist you further with the activation.
Once you install the free version of AVG from the "Google Play Store", go to AVG > Menu > AVG Account > login with the AVG My Account and product will be activated within few moments.

Click on "Menu" as mentioned in the below image.
Select "AVG account" and enter your AVG my account credentials.
Wait for few minutes to check whether AVG Cleaner activates to PRO.
Follow the same for AVG Antivirus app.
