Hi everyone,
I recently updated my paid version of AVG to the latest update (20.4.3125) and my laptop has since then slowed down significantly due to what I believe to be the "Enhanced Firewall".
From what I've been experiencing, every time I want to open an app (such as outlook) or a file (such as an Excel sheet or a PDF), there is a dwell time (up to a minute) before I get an Enhanced firewall popup asking me to block or allow the action.
I've been consistently allowing these apps/files and making sure that I tick the fifth security bar (i.e. allow all connections) and the "remember my choice" option but the Enhanced Firewall does not remember my choices.
Furthermore, I've just had a look at the application rule section of the AVG app and there is about 50 lines for Microsoft Outlook alone which makes my think that AVG is making a new application rule everytime I open an app.
I've been using the paid version for a couple years of this laptop and never have experienced that kind of issue. When I used to tick "allow all connections" and "remember my choices", it used to work.
I'd like to fix this ASAP, it shouldn't take a minute to open a 50 KB Excel sheet on a 16 Go RAM SSD laptop.
Thanks,
MLES
