Hello,
I downloaded an app from the internet and put it on my D: drive, and when I extracted it, AVG antivirus detected it as malicious software, asking me to quarantine it, which I am grateful it did to protect my machine. The problem is that it created a folder named "$AV_AVG" inside it another folder named "$VAULT" on D: drive not on the C: drive. And I think this could be a more organized way for the AVG developers to say, "We detected a virus on the D: drive, then we will create you a quarantine folder also on the same drive!" But I don't prefer this as a user to have a folder I don't want on my other drives. Even when I deleted the malicious file entirely from quarantine, the folder $AV_AVG wouldn't go away and couldn't be deleted, even by the "File Unlocker" apps.
Bottom line: do whatever you want on the C: drive, but please leave my other drives alone!
