Avg vpn not working on secure browser

i bought avg vpn ultimate last night and installed… The VPN icon shows online privacy is on, but the avg secure browser has a slanted line through the VPN in the browser bar? How can I correct this to enable on the browser? How do I see if VPN is working on other browsers like explorer? thanks

Hello James,

You've reached the AVG community support forum.
First of all, we'd like to clarify that AVG Secure Browser comes with a built-in VPN feature that will be made available to a user if they've purchased the AVG Secure Browser Pro subscription (It's a paid feature).
As AVG Secure Browser Pro is not included in your AVG Ultimate (Multi-Device) subscription, the built-in VPN feature will not be available to you.
However, you needn't worry, because you already have the standalone AVG Secure VPN.
The built-in VPN feature in AVG Secure Browser Pro only masks the network traffic that passes through AVG Secure Browser Pro. Whereas, the standalone AVG Secure VPN program masks the network traffic of your entire device.
Hence, we'd recommend that you ignore the crossed out VPN icon in your AVG Secure Browser.
Let us know if you have further queries.

Thank you for your support Midhun. As I understand your answer, if I use Internet Explorer on this device my browsing is secure because of the standalone AVG Secure VPn?

How can I be sure it is working? Is there a log somewhere?
Thanks again,
James
