Here we are in 2023. I now have the same problem. Was a fix ever put out by AVG?

You may experience a slower internet connection when using AVG Secure VPN. This is because a VPN encrypts traffic and data before sending it to a server. Depending on the distance and capacity of the server, this process may cause a slightly slower, but safer, internet connection.
You can try to use streaming location and check the status. If you still need refund, please do let us know.
I have been with AVG for a number of years with no problems at all, then on advice from a internet security professional it was suggested that I get VPN. As a customer of AVG I decided to subscribe to AVG. I have had this program loaded for a couple of weeks now and to be honest what a waste of my money.
I am with Virgin with speeds of over 200 Mbps of which I am paying a premium for, but, with VPN connected it drops to anywhere between 35 to 18 Mbps???.
I have tried many of the different countries to see if there is any difference in speed but none at all.
I should have read a lot more of these threads to see the problems others have had.
AVG please advise me how to get a refund on the miss sold product I now find myself with
I fully understand how it works BUT! there is an 82% drop in speed! not a "Slight" drop at all.
unfortunatly I cant attach the Speedtest results to this message

I have exactly the same problem.
By Veeramani Sivakumar stating that "You may experience a slower internet connection when using AVG Secure VPN" is certainly making light of this issue.
Phil: Your estimate of a drop in speed of around 82% certainly does match my experience.
Sending requests to the Ether via pigeon's may rival AVG Secure VPN.
AVG: You are and have been aware that there is not just a slight slowness in the Internet speed whilst using AVG Secure VPN. Stop procratsinating, and provide a solution.

This is the speed record as you can see by the highlighted items the 82% drop in speed.
I am not going to bounce messages around for ever more while you try and find a solution to this problem. Clearly there is one as the response from Ted (Thanks mate) shows he has tried many more times to resolve this than I have the will, patience or even the time to mess about with a ridiculously long-winded process.
Again, clearly not fit for purpose, so please cancel my AVG VPN account immediately and refund my subscription for it.
