I have a great concern about my AVG VPN. One of the main reasons I went with AVG for my vpn is, it seemed to have little impact on my overall Internet speeds where others had a larger impact. I currently have a subscription and have had for a couple of years now.
Everything was going along fine until about two weeks ago when I accepted an update to the program and all of a sudden, whenever AVG VPN is connected, I am experiencing reduced speeds of 30 to 50 or more Mbps on a 75 Mbps connection. This has never been the case before and is totally unacceptable.
I have run numerous tests with many different sources and servers and the result is constant, connect the vpn and lose the speed.
My question is one of two things unless you have a better suggestion, can I roll back the update to an earlier version and / or can I get an earlier release all together and start fresh and not update? I am concerned if I uninstall this version and reinstall the original executable I have that my subscription is going to get all messed up, so I am reluctant to try.
Please keep in mind that the reason I went with AVG is because it was not very intrusive and did what I needed it to do, this however is no longer the case.
For your information, the current version is 5.21.6744 I'm not sure what prior versions were and frankly I don't really remember updating it before but I imagine I have.
Please contact me ASAP to correct this because this is not what I purchased.
