AVG What have they done?

T Ellis,
Please accept my apologies with regards to the AVG software not living up to your expectations. If you are experiencing issues to uninstall AVG, please download and run AVG Clear and AVG Remover tools.  Download and run AVG Clear tool: https://share.avg.com/steam/PSP/AVG2017/AVG_Clear.exe. This tool will help with removing antivirus component of AVG 2017 and its traces.

Open tool
User Account control - click "Yes"
Windows safe mode - click "No" (we cannot recommend use the tool in safe mode, because there is a problem with compability)
Choose installed version (AVG Free, AVG Internet Security)
Click "Uninstall"
Click "Restart computer"

After restart, run AVG Remover and remove all other supported products and remnants of AVG (ZEN, Framework,…) as suggested in this article http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-uninstall-AVG .

Ellis, I know how you feel. My personal opinion is that this is the doing of Avast, who bought Avg last year. They are trying to recoup some of that money that they paid for Avg and they are using them to heavily market other products. I see no other reason for the way they are doing it. It is quite intrusive and misleading sometimes. Other antivirus companies send email to inform you of their other products.

AVG used to be the defacto AV protection that millions of IT consultants used to protect the clients computer.  I believe the insight on what happened is that idiots out of India purchased or invested in this once great product and have since turned it into a 3rd world fricking scam fest.
Fuk you.  I'm trying to dig AVG out of a client's computer where it won't uninstall and no longer can I dare to recommend or install this product.
Besides the relentless pop ups, pups installed that border on malware and Indian IT scammer rooms trying to hussle the users of this product, I have never seen such a magnificent downslide into the bowels of rubbish by any software product that for decades was once a revered and appreciated product.  I just signed up to say fuk you idiots who work for this company and damn you to hell the idiots who are in charge of the 3rd world degradation you have inflicted on this product line.
I will never again, along with thousands of IT professionals like me, ever touch your so called products now except to remove their smelly bits and in most cases it requires extreme measures to remove these days.  What the hell were you people thinking?  Or don't you think that we have standards in the West that preclude your insane concepts of screwing anyone with nickel and dime relentless ads, popups, malware and IT scammers.  Just terrible what has happened to AVG. Avoid!!

Good … now they should kill it.  Kill it with fire.
