I tried this and attempted to unquarantine the item again, but STILL, nothing happened. Also, the EXACT program on my PC is Free Antivirus.
Best fix, dump AVG install another Anti-Virus (preferably one that works correctly), go into new Anti-virus settings tick the box that says "ask what to do before removal". Then re-install the program/App that AVG has screwed up on you. I always had this problem with AVG then Zen came along seemed to work great, then as always like every other company they update App and screw everything up. Don't have time to F around with this all the time, kicking AVG to the curb for the last time.
I recently got a file quarantined that I KNEW FOR A FACT, that it had no virus. So AVG removes it, and I try to get it back. It doesn't let me restore it. I check the box, click Restore on the drop down and nothing happens other than the boxes uncheck. I check to see if it's there again, and it's not. I keep on trying and no matter what happens it ignores me.
