AVGSvc.exe was almost completely freezing my PC

Hello,

I'm French and got a serious problem with the program "AVGSvc.exe" during a game. My computer was almost completely freezing and I had to quit the game because of that.

At this moment, I noticed that my CPU was used at 100%. As you can see on this picture, the program "AVGSvc.exe" consumes between 20 and 90% of the CPU:

In fact, it's not the first time! And sometimes I have another of your programs called "ToolbarUpdater.exe" which consumes a lot of CPU. I always have to close it, because I don't use any toolbar and I have never seen it in Firefox or another program.

It seams that there are lots of issues with the AVG programs in these days. It's not as serious as before…!

Is there a solution or is it better to remove the antivirus?

Thanks for your help!

Hello,

Thanks for your answer !

I have AVG Free antivirus installed on my computer with Windows 7 Pro x64.
Here is the same screenshot than above : AVGSvc.exe CPU use (https://lensdump.com/i/0txgSb)

OK. Thanks !

I will come back to tell you if it worked.

I disabled "ToolbarUpdater" in the MSconfig, because it was using 25% of my CPU. It's not the first time. In addition, I never saw any toolbar in Firefox or somewhere else.

So, for me this application is useless.

Thanks for you answer !

Yes, I will try to uninstall it, because I still have this issue. Today, the program sometimes used more than 85% of the CPU as you can see here :

This isn't the usual behavior of AVG program. In this regard, we'd suggest you to try performing a clean installation to check if it helps.
To do so, follow the steps in below provided articles :
