I have AVG Internet Security installed. Until the evening of 14/12/16 it was working correctly as far as I am aware.
On this evening my laptop froze. I think that at the time an AVG update was in progress. I restarted the laptop but now when I click the AVG Protection icon on my desktop (this icon is for C:\Program Files\AVG\Av\avgui.exe) the AVG panel does not start. No error or warning message is displayed.
Also Windows Security Centre shows that AVG Internet Security is turned off for both Firewall and Virus protection. The “turn on” buttons in Security Centre do not turn AVG Internet Security on.
Can anyone help?
