Hi, No I hadn't, but everything is ok now. I installed Avast because I wanted to have the protection until I figured out the problem, but on restarting I got a blue screen, again and again. Booted into safe mode and uninstalled it, and then thought I'd try uninstalling AVG and it worked. All files gone.
Restarted my PC and reinstalled AVG, worked without issue.
Thank you for your help.

Hi,
I downloaded the AVG Remover tool and ran it. I received the message that it did not find any active product on my system. It gave me the option to run it anyway which I did. And after a restart I still had all the files/folders inside Program Files (which I can't delete) and the same error message pops up about the missing file suggesting that windows still has the run command.
Apparently AVG free antivirus requires this file to be able to do anything. If you can simply send it to me and tell me where to put it, I'm sure that will do the trick.
Hi,
AVG did an automatic update the other day and now wont start because the file JsonRpcServer.dll is missing from my computer.
Repairing doesn't work. Goes through the motions and gives me an OK button at the end.
Uninstalling doesn't work. I click the uninstall button and the window vanishes after a second.
Re-installing doesn't work. I selected a new location to install to, same error message. New location weirdly doesn't exist.
So, where can I find this file about that's so important to the running of AVG that it's not included?

Hello Mark,
May I know if you have run AVG Clear tool? If not, then run the AVG Clear tool, if it's asking to reboot your computer in safe mode click No. Reboot your computer once and try to delete the AVG folders manually.
Best regards,
Alok.
