AVGUI.EXE using 99 percent of processor constantly

Windows XP on Gateway Laptop 2GB RAM.
Since I installed AVG AntiVirus Free a few days ago, the computer has gradually become unuseable.
AVGUI.EXE is using 99 per cent of the processor constantly. Restart makes no difference, even if the start up is ok, the AVGUI.EXE quickly takes all the processor again.
Please, Support, can you let me upload your system information data, as this is an issue not resolved on the forum with other users.
Many thanks

No other security installed.
I have run AVG Clear and also Remove then Clear.
Makes no difference.
Clear prevents re-booting or closing windows program, because a pop-up tells me the process 'avgsecureicontray' cannot End.
So had to power off the computer manually.
Please can you tell me what AVGUI.EXE process is for?
If it is the icontray as the pop-up issue when using Clear, then that must be something and why everyone else is having this same issue? The AVGUI.EXE is the 'User Interface' that is the icon in the icon tray?

I have repeatedly uninstalled using AVG window to select Uninstall.
Same issue when AVG Free is installed again.
Sometimes after Install is ok for one session until next restart windows, AVGUI.EXE does not hog processor.

Please, would you forward a working linkfor AVG Free so I can send you the analysis info file.
Many thanks

Thank you for your assistance.
I installed the offline.exe version of AVG from your link.

It is still the same issue.
After installing AVG, there is no issue.
When the computer is restarted AVGUI.EXE takes over the processor completely 99 per cent forever.

I hope you can assist further if I can send a system log to you.

Many thanks
