AVGUI.exe won't run because "the file contains a virus"?

1. Have you tried to run AVG Clear tool to remove AVG program?
2. Have you tried to restart the device and check it?
3. Please share us the screenshot of the page which keep showing failed error.

Hi.

Windows 7 on an old VAIO laptop. Out of the blue AVG free won't load/run saying "Operation did not complete successfully because the file contains a virus".

I don't run the laptop without AVG running, ever.

Can't uninstall because Win 7 uninstaller thinks it has already been installed. Tried reinstalling but get same error.

Any ideas please?
