On 12 July 2019 I received an email stating my AVG Ultimate subscription expires in 60 days and suggested I renewed it promptly, which I did on the very same day.
My account shows my subscription's next charge will be 26 August 2020.
Today, 27 July 2019, I received an email stating that my AVG Ultimate expires on 10 September 2019 and that on 26 August 2019 my credit card will be charged for the subscription that I have already paid.
WTF is going on?
Hello John,
We could see that you have already bought AVG Ultimate (1 Year) subscription for GBP71.99 on 12th July 2019.
However, there is auto renewal service enabled for the first purchase of AVG Ultimate (1 Year) that you made on 17th August 2018.
Hence, you received the email notification regarding it and the charge that is going to be taken.
Shall we cancel the auto renewal service for your first purchase of AVG Ultimate?

Your first sentence says you have cancelled the auto-renewal service.
Your second sentence says that I have a subscription valid until 2020.9.10 with auto-renewal enabled.
Will I have to cancel my auto-renewal every year if I want to take advantage of any discounted price offer?
I would prefer to have no auto-renewal service at all, and to pay my subscription upon receipt your e-mail payment request.
Yes, please cancel the auto-renewal.
I responded to the e-mail of 12 July because it saved me 10% on the subscription charge.
Iād appreciate a similar e-mail next year.
Thanks for your help.
Regards,
John Gillham
