Hi Amos,
We'll certainly clarify further.
Glad to know that you have run necessary scans with AVG to detect and remove malware.
I suggest you to monitor if you experience any unusual activities on your PC and also uninstall if unwanted applications are installed without your consent.
Feel free to write back if you need any help.
Dear AVG,
I have received an email blackmail threat in the form of a huge sum of money donation through bitcoins. I had visited certain websites and apparently malwares were installed on my macbook. The attackers seem to know my macbook login password and claimed to have control of my webcam and obtained my email contact list.
I have since done a deep scan and removed all possible threats but the malware was not detected. I had changed my macbook login password and changed all my emails passwords. I am thinking of formatting my macbook as a last resort.
What i want to know is the above damage control enough? Could the attackers have possible take control of my webcam and obtained all my email contacts?
Tks!
