Bogus Notice for Update

I have had AVG free for some time. I didn't have any trouble installing it. However, I am getting the first pop up shown above telling me to update. All my definitions are up to date. I went through my known AVG and checked. I updated my protection but I still get the pop up. I am also getting pop ups from https://en.scrapee.net/. It is something from fb that I did not accept. Yet it pops up even when I'm not logged into fb. I ran a scan and AVG did not pick it up.

Thank you.

I, too, have seen the same popup message each day for the past week or so.  My operating system is Windows XP 32 Home Edition SP3.  I assumed these messages were legitimate, and tried to install them using my IE browser.  When the IE update resulted in a red popup error message saying "… DLLs not found" (the specific DLLs were not identified), I opened Firefox and installed it from there without an error message.  The first 3 screen shots above were the same as I encountered, but I did not see the last 2.  When I checked the AVG report status page it showed a report that this update had been completed successfully.  If this is malware, please let us know what it does and how to deal with it.

This morning I received a notice of an update to AVG2015. The screen authorizing the download had the word license spelled in the British way(licence); this is inconsistent with all the other AVG documentation I've looked at.

Is this legitimate?

Can someone confirm this by correcting and resending the notice?

Thanks.

Hello Gary.
We would like to let you know that the pop up and installation is legit.
Thank you.

I am the sender; my email address is bats1@mindspring.com.

I thought the answer would be posted here, since others might have received the same notice.

I spent a year teaching English in college, and my comment here was the kind I tried my best to never make while teaching. Spelling is a fixation I've never really bought into, but I notice that AVG apparently has tried very hard in its documentation to use the US spelling of license. GP
