Do you have AVG Secure VPN installed in your PC?
Please try to disable AVG component (https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Disable-AVG-Antivirus) one by one and check which component blocking it.

Yes, I am using a wireless printer (and it prints fine with other systems, e.g. directly from my iPhone).
I have AVG Secure VPN, but it is not running. Have now uninstalled it completely (Idon't need it, actually, my company uses Cisco).
Will try again while disabling each component individually and will let you know. Thanks.
My printer started going randomly offline about a year or so ago. The only wat to get it back online is to delete it and reinstall it. But Windows will only pick up the printer over wifi IF AVG antivirus is temporarily disabled. Sometimes will also ever print if I disable the antivirus. Getting tired of these manoeuvres just to print a document.
Any ideas on how to deal with this? There does not seem to be a patter on when it decides to stop recognising the printer. Also, why does the printer go offline randomly now, but didn't before? this does not happen at my office, where i don't have AVG…

As we previously suggested, please try disabling the AVG components and check if AVG Internet Security blocking the Wireless printer connection.
If yes, follow the below steps and check the status.
- Open the AVG Internet Security > Click on the Hacker attacks tile > Firewall options > Network profiles > make sure your Wireless network and a wireless printer are selected as a private connection.
- On the Network profiles, select the policies on the right > Enable the "Internet sharing mode" > Select "System rules" > Enable all the system rules
If the printer did not work even the AVG Internet Security is turned off or completely removed from your computer, please reach the concerned printer support to resolve this matter.
