Bug in AVG free 2014

My suggestions:  just update AVG.  That's always your main concern.  Then check the vault for items caught.   If found study the details and try to determine how how you got the offender--so you don't repeat the infection.  It could be a temporary infection in a website that you visited through an advertiser's script.  Just clear the vault and run a full scan if you're concerned.  I'd also suggest that you also use Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware also as additional protection.  If running Windows XP, get the paid Premier Edition for $24.95 and make your computer really secure.  Windows XP is a sitting duck without AVG and Malwarebytes.

it will do that it does that with 2013

Your response completely ignores the problem I reported. I can only assume you are trolling this site and pasting in generic responses to users' problems.

On June 19, 2014, the icon in the tray shows an orange triangle with an exclamation point in it. Opening the AVG interface shows that Anti-Spam is not installed. But Anti-Spam is only available with the paid version of AVG not the free version, so AVG programmers introduced this error when making recent updates.
I am running Windows 7 SP1. I have no other anti-virus sw installed.

Hi Bert
It should not be caused just by missing Anti-spam component.
Please provide us with screenshot (http://kb.avg.com/articles/en_US/How_to/How-to-create-a-screenshot/).
Thanks
