Hi,
Just so you know latest version of AVG free breaks VT-X for virtualbox. Basically AVG Free makes VT-X unavailable for VirtualBox (or any other virtualization software i guess) and launching any virtual machine result in a VT-X disabled error.
Setting AVG free in passive mode obviously fix it but it's not the goal … right !
Could you please acknowledge the issue and maybe propose a workaround.
Thanks a lot for your help

This issue seems to be occuring again with the latest update (10/3/17) of AVG Free. I occasionally use MEmu (a virtual emulator for android) and as long as AVG is installed or not in passive, it will not load and a similar sounding VT-X disabled error is (sometimes) given.

Doesn't seem to help unfortunately.
However disabling virtualization security in the options is enough to get VirtualBox back to normal although this was not needed before.
I guess it's in this part of the code that for some reason the updated version of AVG Free do not let VT-X available for Virtualization applications.
Is the new AVG Free version supposed to block VT-X if this option is checked ?
