Cannon uninstall AVG

I have finally located and downloaded the zip file. When I try to run com.avg.uninstall.app I get the error message" The application “Uninstall AVG AntiVirus for Mac.app” can’t be opened.

MacBook Pro MacOS 10.15.1

AVG stopped working with the error message 'You can't open the application "AVGAntivirus.app" because it is damaged or incomplete.' I installed and reinstalled AVG but got the same error messages.

I uninstalled and removed all the AVG related files I could find. I found another AVGAntivirus app on my computer, a file of 162kb. When I run it I get the same error message as above. When I try to uninstall, I get the message: '"AVGAntivius.app" can't be modified or deleted because it's required by macOS.' I want it all removed before I run a new backup.

I have installed Avast without problem and everything seems OK, but would prefer AVG back if possible.

The attachment sent to you via email is a zipped file. You may need to extract it & then run the uninstaller on your Mac.
Would you be so kind to let us know if you've extracted & attempted to run the file?

I have unziupped and run the uninstaller. I get the error message: The application “Uninstall AVG AntiVirus for Mac.app” can’t be opened.

We're sorry to know that, David. As this isn't the usual behavior of AVG app, we may need to check this with the next level of support. In order to do so, we request you to share us the screenshot of the error message that you receive for better clarity.

David, could you please check if the e-mail (sent by me) is landed up in spam/junk folders?
