When switching on AVG Secure VPN, I cannot access Ubuntu Linux updates in Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) or in virtual machines running on Hyper-V on Windows 10 Pro (fully updated & patched). When turning VPN off, all accesses work as expected. I am currently evaluating the service in trial mode.
Hi Panos,
We're glad to look into this & help you.
Please clarify whether you're trying the 7 days trial of AVG Secure VPN.
Meanwhile, please check if the Local access device in enabled in AVG Secure VPN settings.
(Open AVG Secure VPN - Menu - Settings - General - Local device access).
Hi Dinesh.
Thank you very much for taking over my ticket.
I am using a 60-days subscription for AVG Secure VPN. Option “Enable local device access when using VPN” is enabled in my configuration (although I am not sure this is relevant to my problem as the connection, that is not working for me when I activate the secure VPN, is an outbound one: from my WSL / Hyper-V virtual machines to Ubuntu / Microsoft updates’ sites).
Looking forward to having your comments.
Panos Tsapralis.
Thank you for clarifying, Panos.
Please check if the following settings are configured properly :
Open AVG Secure VPN - Menu - Settings - Disable or enbale Kill switch once.
If issue persists, please try to edit the network to which your computer is connected : Open AVG Secure VPN - Menu - Settings - Network security - beside 'Exclude trusted networks', click on edit networks & change it to public or private to check if it helps.
