I have exactly the same issue just now, none of the other support tricks, helps work in any way. Can you please let us know what is going on?
Hello Akos,
We will work together to sort this issue.
Did you get any threat detection or error message message from AVG when you try to access these files?
Or did you optimize your computer using AVG TuneUp?
If no, please disable AVG temporarily on your computer and check if you are able to access these files without any error.
To disable AVG temporarily, please right click on the AVG icon present at the bottom right corner of your desktop(System Tray) and use the slider to "Disable Protection".
Hi,
I have purchased AVG Ultimate and installed internet security and PC tuneup on my laptop. Afterwards, I am not able to open certain files (mainly xls, doc, pdf documents) from my desktop and USB-connected external HDD. I do not have backups for these documents and they are crucial for my life… Please advise if this is a windows-issue or AVG-related. Is there any way to restore files or fix this? Error message I get when trying to open files: Windows cannot find xxx file. Please verify filename or path (not literally, but it is in my local language, I don't know what is the appropriate English error message for this type of issue.
Thank you in advance.
