Hello Sally,
We will certainly look into this for you.
We'd like to clarify that the free version of AVG AntiVirus does give you the basic protection. Do you mean that some components (say hackers attacks, payments) are not enabled? Are you facing issues in performing deep scan using AVG?
It would be better to assist you, if you could elaborate your concern. Thank you.
Hi
Trying to use AVG free antivirus on my mac, but full disc protection cannot be enabled. The option is blanked out.
Can anyone advise?
Thanks

Thank you for sharing the screenshot, Sally.
On the Privacy options window, click the 'Lock' icon at the bottom to make changes. The settings are currently locked.
Sally, may I know which version of macOS are you using?
Please provide a screenshot (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201361) of Privacy options and AVG user interface to assist you further.
No it keeps saying 'You are not protected' Allow full disc access to stay protected. Then I click through to do this, go to the privacy options and AVG under the full disc access section is greyed out/unable to be ticked, like the option has been disabled somehow.
