Hello Ian,
I am sorry to hear this.
I request you to open the AVG Internet Security dashboard and click on "Menu–>Settings–>Components
To the right scroll down to click on Firewall "Customize" option.
On Policies window to the right scroll down to click on "System Rules"
Enable the option for "windows file and sharing" and "allow remote connection to this PC" and click Ok.
Check whether the issue persists in accessing the the networked PC's.
Ever since this latest major upgrade to AVG Internet Security I cannot access networked PCs anymore unless I turn off the AVG firewall.
Running Windows 10, AVG Internet Security 2017.
I have the entire IP range in the firewall's Friends list. Can't find anywhere else to make setting changes.
How do you approve networked computers so they can be found through this new AVG firewall?
That did not work.
I enabled both settings on all computers and closed AVG, also opened AVG to verify they were all set to Enabled.
I solved my problem.
1) Canceled AVG subscription
2) Uninstalled AVG
3) Installed Norton
