Can't get avg to even let me do anything. I get a screen saying we're remodeling, come back later

I somehow bought AVG from Google and it won't let me do anything . I can finally put in my gmail address and get into the program but it won't let me do anything . I get a screen that says we're remodeling come back later. I just want to go back to the free avg that I have used for years with no problems but when I pay for it all I get is grief. Please help
